Q-RACING JOURNAL—APRIL 29, 2016—Officials from the American Quarter Horse Association will present a plaque to Sunland Park Racetrack on Sunday, honoring the track's commitment to Quarter Horse racing.

Several senators and other dignitaries will also be on hand.

In addition, a representative from the Wrangler Racing Aces program will be at the track to host fan education workshops in the grandstand both Saturday and Sunday. Sunland Park's stakes schedule this weekend features the 58th running of the West Texas Futurity (G2) on Saturday and the 53rd edition of the West Texas Derby (G3) on Sunday.
