RUIDOSO DOWNS, NM—APRIL 28, 2014—Entries for the always anticipated three days of 300-yard training races will be taken on Monday at Ruidoso Downs in the racing office.

The training races will be held on May 9-11. Last year, a record 265 aspiring juveniles competed in 44 training races.

The training races are timed to prepare two-year-olds for the trials to the $1 million Ruidoso Futurity trials on May 27-28. The 350-yard Ruidoso Futurity and the $100,000 Ruidoso Juvenile, for horses who did not qualify for the Ruidoso Futurity, will be held on June 12.

The entry fee for the training races is $50 and due at time of entry. It is important that the horse’s correct name and spelling are presented at entry time.

Training race competitors have included champions Ochoa, Jm Miracle, Kates Dynasty and Hez Our Secret.
