RUIDOSO DOWNS, NM—JULY 20, 2021—Jess Savin Candy, a son of the Good Reason SA stallion Jess Good Candy racing for Dutch Masters III, will continue his quest for the All American Triple Crown in Sunday’s 400-yard, $1-million Rainbow Futurity (G1) at Ruidoso Downs.
Jess Savin Candy has won his last two starts, including the 350-yard, $1-million Ruidoso Futurity (G1) -- the first leg of the All American Triple Crown -- on June 13. A $30,000 purchase at last year’s Heritage Place Yearling Sale in Oklahoma City, the bay gelding has earned $426,400 from three races.
Only one 2-year-old -- world champion Special Effort in 1981 -- has swept all three of Ruidoso Downs’ Grade 1 futurities. Jess Savin Candy drew post 8 and will be ridden by Francisco Calderon for trainer John Stinebaugh.
