Undefeated Revenant Moon Seeks Second Stakes Victory in Grade 1, $1-Million Ruidoso Futurity

RUIDOSO DOWNS, NM—JUNE 8, 2021—Revenant Moon, an undefeated daughter of leading first-crop sire A Revenant, racing for Robert Odom, Scott Bryant, and Norman W. Allen, drew post 10 for Sunday’s 350-yard, $1-million Ruidoso Futurity (G1) at Ruidoso Downs.

Revenant Moon has earned $201,518 from three outs, and her three wins include a neck victory as the odds-on favorite in the 300-yard, $477,000 Oklahoma Futurity (G2) at Remington Park on March 20. The third-fastest qualifier from 32 trials run May 28-29, the filly will be ridden by Jose A. Alvarez for trainer Trey Wood.

Jess Fire Me, a son of Walk Thru Fire and the fastest overall qualifier, drew post 8 and will be ridden by Adrian Ramos for owner Empire Racing and trainer Albert Valles. A $68,000 purchase at last year’s Heritage Place Yearling Sale in Oklahoma City, the brown colt made his debut with a head victory in the ninth of 16 trials contested on May 29.

Other contenders include Zitro Racing Corp.’s Mr Apollo Jess, a son of world champion Apollitical Jess trained by Toby Keeton. Mr Apollo Jess has won three of four starts and has banked $91,429, and his record includes a fifth-place finish in the 330-yard, $926,000 Remington Park Futurity (RG1) for Oklahoma-breds on April 17.

Mr Apollo Jess drew post 4 and will be ridden by Juan Pulido.

Also on Saturday, FDD Scout heads a field of 12 2-year-olds entered back in the 350-yard, $100,000 Ruidoso Juvenile Invitational Stakes.

A sorrel son of champion FDD Dynasty trained by Trey Wood for owner Paragon Farms LLC, FDD Scout made his debut with a three-quarter length victory in a Ruidoso Futurity trial on May 29. The homebred gelding covered 350 yards in :17.606 and just missed making the lineup for the Ruidoso Futurity.

FDD Scout drew post 7 and will be ridden by Tanner Thedford.
