LOS ALAMITOS, CA—DECEMBER 5, 2019—MRB Racing's Jest Famous, who was so impressive when winning the Town Policy Handicap against 3-year-olds on November 9, will make his final tune-up before taking aim at the trials to the Grade 1 Los Alamitos Winter Championship when he faces six foes in the First Down Dash Handicap for 3-year-olds and up Saturday at Los Alamitos.
Trained by Chris O'Dell and to be ridden by Cody Jensen, Jest Famous was outstanding in his first local start, as he won the Town Policy by a half-length as the even money favorite. Jest Famous had excellent freshman campaign, as he won the Southwest Juvenile Championship last year after running third in the $1 million Ruidoso Futurity.
Bred by Jon and Donna McPherson, the Louisiana-bred son of Mr Jess Perry will enter with seven wins in 12 starts.
Bos Time Machine and Jess Macho Corona, a pair of top 3-year-olds, will also compete in the First Down Dash.
Owned by Gary and Dee Hoovestal, Bos Time Machine won a pair of stakes races in August and will be looking to make it a trifecta on Saturday night. Conditioned by Paul Jones, he is by multiple stakes sire Bodacous Dash.
Also trained by Jones, Gary Nutt and Turner Farms' Corona Cartel gelding Jess Macho Corona has been fifth in his last two Los Alamitos outings, but he showed what he's made of when running second in the 440-yard All American Derby.
Twisted Sifter, a winner of nine races since February 2018, Grade 1 stakes finalist Jess My Kiss, Corona Jumpn ML, Mr Secret Glory will complete the field.
