OKLAHOMA CITY, OK—MARCH 23, 2017—Sherry Gilmore’s Ima China Rush, a homebred daughter of the Agouti stallion Rushago and the fastest qualifier, is the 2-1 morning-line favorite for Saturday’s 300-yard, $525,050 Oklahoma Futurity (G3) at Remington Park.

Ima China Rush made her career debut with a wire-to-wire, 1 1/4-length victory on a muddy track in the second of 17 trials on March 11. The filly drew post 3 and will be ridden by Larry Payne.

Second-fastest qualifier Pyc Fun N Fancy drew post 5 and has been made the 5-1 third choice by Remington Park morning-line maker Jerry Shottenkirk. A bay son of Pyc Paint Your Wagon trained by Luz Chavira for owner Jose E. Guzman, the colt was acquired for $32,000 at last year’s Heritage Place Yearling Sale, and he is a full brother to two graded stakes winners, including 2014 Remington Park Oklahoma-Bred Futurity (RG3) winner and All American Futurity (G1) finalist Ima Fancy Pyc.

Fastest qualifier Jess Kool Lady will risk her three-race win streak in Saturday’s 350-yard, $251,000 Oklahoma Derby (G3).

Trained by Victor Olivo for owner Enrique Ibarra, Jess Kool Lady is a bay daughter of Apollitical Jess who made her 3-year-old debut with a 1 1/4-length win in the first of six trials on March 12. The filly has won three of four starts, including two races at Indiana Grand last fall, and she has banked $24,884.

Jess Kool Lady drew post 4 and will be ridden by Paul Nieto. Her nine opponents include Tommy The Train, a stakes-winning son of Freighttrain B racing for Jon Barley, Brant Barley, and Brad Sharp from the barn of trainer Larry Sharp. Tommy The Train ended his juvenile campaign with a nose victory as the 6-5 favorite in the 350-yard, $139,000 Governor’s Stakes at Indiana Grand.

David Pinon will ride Tommy The Train from post 5.

Also on Saturday, a full field of 10 2-year-olds has been entered back in the 300-yard, $50,000 Oklahoma Juvenile Invitational Stakes. Jose E. Guzman’s Fast Prize Rumor, a gelded son of the First Down Dash stallion Hez Our Secret trained by Gerry McLean and an $11,500 buy at last year’s Heritage Place Yearling Sale, drew post 5 and will be ridden by James Flores.
