Fire On The Fly Draws Rail Post for Fauxborg St. John Stakes

NEW ORLEANS, LA—AUGUST 23, 2016—Bullard Farms’ Fire On The Fly will risk his five-race win streak from the rail post in Saturday’s 870-yard, $30,000 Fauxborg St. John Stakes at Fair Grounds.

A homebred gray 6-year-old son of Jet Cartel trained by Tommy Bullard, Fire On The Fly will be making his first start since May 22, when the gelding scored a nose victory in the 870-yard, $50,000 AQHA Remington Distance Challenge (G3) at Remington Park. Fire On The Fly has won all five of his starts this season, all at the 870 distance, and has earned $58,616.

Donell Blake will ride Fire On The Fly on Saturday.

Oscar Rohne’s B and G Fast Dash has won both of his starts at the 870-yard distance and will face open company off of his wire-to-wire, 5 1/2-length victory against Louisiana-breds in the July 9, $50,000 Live Oak Stakes (R) at Delta Downs. B and G Fast Dash drew post 2 and will be ridden by Donald Watson for trainer Kenneth Roberts Sr.

Esplanade Stakes

Exquisite Stride is one of six sprinters entered in Saturday’s 350-yard, $30,000 Esplanade Stakes.

A 4-year-old stallion by champion Carters Cartel, Exquisite Stride is trained by Bruce Bell for David and Sherry Dunn’s D & S Racing LLC. Exquisite Stride is coming off of a neck victory in the 400-yard, $50,000 Miss Polly Classic Stakes (G3) at Delta Downs on June 25.

Exquisite Stride drew post 5 and will be ridden by Joe Badilla Jr.
