AJAX, ONTARIO, CANADA—JUNE 30, 2016—A total of 13 sprinters has been entered in Friday’s 330-yard Ontario Sires’ Stakes Maturity (R) trials at Ajax Downs.

Jesskissmytexas, a 6-year-old son of the Mr Jess Perry stallion Mr Jess Tex racing for Richard Wincikaby and DK Training Centre from the barn of trainer Don Reid, will make his season debut from the rail post in the first of two heats. The gelding ended his 5-year-old campaign with a third-place finish, a half of a length from winner Jettastic, in the 440-yard, $120,000 Alex Picov Memorial Championship.

Brian Bell will ride Jesskissmytexas on Friday.

Richard W. Kennedy’s Fiesty Icon, a 4-year-old Sugarman Perry gelding trained by his owner, is one of seven horses entered in the second trial. Fiesty Icon earned $47,605 from five outs during his sophomore campaign, and his three wins included a half-length score in the 350-yard, $77,000 Ontario Sires’ Derby (R) on September 28.

Fiesty Icon drew post 7 and will be ridden by Carly Furlonger.

The 10 fastest qualifiers will meet in the July 17, $50,000-added Ontario Sires’ Stakes Maturity final.
