OKLAHOMA CITY, OK—APRIL 17, 2014—A full field of 10 Oklahoma-bred 2-year-olds has been entered in Saturday’s $70,000-added Laico Bird Stakes (R) at Remington Park.

PYB Place Your Bet, the probable favorite, is coming off of a second-place finish to Paint Me Perry in the March 22, $370,000 Oklahoma Futurity (G2). A gray daughter of PYC Paint Your Wagon owned by Georgina Chavira and Rito R. Sosa and trained by Luz Chavira, PYB Place Your Bet has earned $68,874 from two starts.

PYB Place Your Bet drew post 5, and Ivan Carnero has been named to ride the filly on Saturday.

Three of the entries in the 330-yard Laico Bird made their most recent starts in the Remington Park Futurity (RG3) trials earlier this month, including American Ivory and Coronas Miss Perry, both of whom won their heats. Coronas Miss Perry is a sorrel daughter of Corona Cartel racing for Vanguard Equine Partners LLC from the barn of Kasey Willis. The filly has won both of her outs and has banked $23,886.

American Ivory broke his maiden with a nose victory in the ninth Remington Park Futurity trial on April 5. The gelded son of Ivory James is owned by Alexia Mehrle and trained by Kasey Willis.

Named in honor of the Oklahoma-bred daughter of Good Bird and 1967 AQHA world champion, the Laico Bird Stakes is one of four Quarter Horse stakes on Remington Park’s 12-race card. The complete lineup, in post position order including jockey assignments--
