Grade 1 Winner Jody Pops Zoomer Draws Rail Post in Bob Moore Memorial

OKLAHOMA CITY, OK—APRIL 17, 2014—Jody Pops Zoomer will make the first start of his 4-year-old campaign in the 300-yard, $50,000 Bob Moore Memorial Stakes (G2), one of four Quarter Horse stakes on Remington Park’s 12-race program on Saturday.

A gelding by Zoomin For Bux racing for Raymundo Medrano and Sammy Valeriano and trained by Toby Keeton, Jody Pops Zoomer ended his sophomore season with a two-race win streak that included a half-length victory in the 440-yard, $394,000 Texas Classic Derby (G1) at Lone Star Park. All told, Jody Pops Zoomer has won five of 11 starts and has earned $220,292.

Jody Pops Zoomer will break from post 1 under jockey Ricky Ramirez in the Bob Moore Memorial.

Valeriano Racing Stables LLC’s One Valiant Hero, one of three 3-year-olds in the full field of 10, has won both of his outs at the current Remington meet. Trained by Eddie D. Willis, the sorrel colt by Valiant Hero is coming off of a three-quarter length win in the 350-yard, $200,000 Oklahoma Derby on March 22.

Jimmy D. Brooks will once again ride One Valiant Hero on Saturday.

The Bob Moore Memorial Stakes honors the memory of the late Bob Moore, a longtime breeder and owner based in Oklahoma until his death in 1998. Moore’s homebred runners included Mr Jet Moore, the winner of the inaugural Champion of Champions at Los Alamitos in ’1972 and that season’s AQHA world champion. Moore was inducted into the American Quarter Horse Hall of Fame in 2003.
