Shesa Relentless Gal Breaks Maiden, Surprises In $100,000 Rainbow Quarter Horse Juvenile

RUIDOSO DOWNS, NM—JULY 25, 2021—At odds of 23-1 Shesa Relentless Gal broke her maiden with a half-length win over Miss Beth Dutton in the $100,000 Rainbow Quarter Horse Juvenile Sunday afternoon at Ruidoso Downs.

Shesa Relentless Gal got way alertly under jockey Raul Herrera, going wire-to-wire over a sloppy (sealed) racetrack in :19.689 seconds, a 95 speed for 400 yards into a 4 mph crosswind.

It was the first win in four starts for the daughter of a leading third-crop sire Hes Relentless. She entered the Rainbow Juvenile off a second-place effort to third-fastest Rainbow Futurity(G1) qualifier CC Hocks.

Manuel Rodriguez trains the $55,000 Heritage Place Yearling Sale graduate for owner MRB Racing LLC. Bred in Oklahoma by Flag Ranch LLC, from the Corona Cartel mare A Snow Cartel, Shesa Relentless Gal earned $42,000 for the winning effort.

The filly paid $47.40, $18.40 and $8.60 in the eighth race.

Racing for owners Conda and Judy Maze, Miss Beth Dutton bumped a foe at break then drifted under jockey Jorge Torres to finish second. Conditioned by Clinton Crawford, the daughter of a leading third-crop sire Kiss My Hocks was bred in Texas by Paragon Farms, LLC.

Out of the Apollitical Jess mare Time For Jess, Miss Beth. Dutton got her first win in five starts this season in the Rainbow Futurity trials. The $33,000 Ruidoso Select Yearling Sale graduate picked up $18,000 for today's effort to boost her bankroll to $24,018.

Also breaking her maiden in the trials, Messynger finished a neck back to earn $10,000 for third. Juan Vazquez trains the Corona Cartel filly for owner-breeder Bobby D. Cox.

Second in her career debut, a trial for the Remington Park Oklahoma-Bred Futurity, the brown filly was also second in the Heritage Place and Ruidoso QH Futurity trials. She has earned $20,000 in five starts. Cox bred Messynger in Oklahoma from the First Down Dash mare Shesa Dashin First.

Kj Brandy, Apollitical J Legacy, Tempting Dance, Akurit, The Big Favorite, El Painted Eagle and Hot Ivory Eyes completed the field.
