Bp Southern Suzie Prevails in Wyoming Downs Futurity

EVANSTON, WY—AUGUST 18, 2019—In her first career stakes victory, Bp Southern Suzie and jockey Eliot Bachicha, Jr. powered home to win the $33,850 Wyoming Downs Futurity by a half-length on Sunday afternoon.

The final time for the 350-yard stake was :17.591; the winner earned a 96 speed index.

Bp Southern Suzie ($11.20) is trained by Josh Taylor for owner Jerry Chapman. This was her second career win and her second appearance in a stake; she also qualified for the Cowboy State Futurity at Energy Downs and finished fourth in the final.

The Corona Cartel filly was bred in Oklahoma by Bill Price, out of the graded stakes placed mare Bp Down South, by First Down Dash.

Bp Southern Suzie was the second fastest qualifier to the final and finished second in her trial behind fastest qualifier Valiant Virgo.

Second place finisher Endless Enchantment placed in her first stake for trainer Glade Van Tassell and owner Gary Laramie; Oscar Andrade, Jr had the call.

Endless Enchantment was bred in California by John Andreini, by Carters Cartel and out of Endless Delight, by Royal Quick Dash. She has finished in the exacta in four of her five career starts, including two wins at Wyoming Downs.

Pyc Lovestruck overcame a stumble at the start of the race to finish third as the longest price in the firld. The filly was ridden by Rolando Raudales for trainer Robby Overturf. Copper Spring Ranch, LLC own and bred the daughter of Pyc Paint Your Wagon in Montana, out of the Tempting Dash mare Lovethewayyoulie; Lovethewayyoulie was the winner of the 2014 Heritage Place Futurity (G1).

Pyc Lovestruck debuted in a trial for the Harrah’s Futurity (G3) at Louisiana Downs in March and placed seventh in the final.

Completing the field were Valiant Virgo, Hotfoot Hero, A Troubled Mere, Goldie Hocks, First Flight and Talk Alot. Special Skokie was scratched.
