Zoomino Fastest Retama 2-Year-Old Training Race Winner on Friday

SELMA, OK—MARCH 22, 2019—Zoomino, a 2-year-old colt by multiple grade 1 sire Zoomin For Bux, posted the fastest time from 48 2-year-olds who participated in nine training races at Retama Park today (Friday).

Jockey Victor Urieta, Jr. rode the brown colt over the 250 yards in :13.74 seconds to get Friday's top mark. Trainer Jose Garza conditions Zoomino for owners Maria Garza and Remigio Figueroa.

Bred in Louisiana by Tate Farms from the Chicks Beduino mare Caution On Else, Zomino is a half-brother to grade 3 placed Royal Darius. The third dam is the stakes winning Dash For Cash mare Dash For Game.

Runner-up in Race 6 was the royally bred Volcom And Tonic B who posted the second fastest clocking of :13.78 seconds. The $10,000 Heritage Place Yearling Sale graduate is a half-brother to Texas Classic Futurity(G1) winner Sure Shot B and stakes-placed winners Miracle Streakin and Devil Wears Prada B.

Leading trainer Leon Bard conditions the son of All American Futurity(G1) sire Volcom for owners Joe and Debbie Meridyth. Bielau Oaks bred the brown colt in Texas from the grade 1 producing Dean Miracle mare She A Miracle.

Bard was the only trainer with two winners on Friday's card. He also saddled Franklin Bard, a Pyc Paint Your Wagon colt to victory in the last race (10).

Walk Thru Fire was the only stallion who had two winners on Friday. Other sires with winners on the training card were leading first-crop sire Hes Relentless, Jesse James Jr, Freighttrain B, Jet Black Patriot and Louisiana Cartel.
