PHOENIX, AZ—DECEMBER 3, 2016—Houdini Sisco broke her maiden by defeating Runawayjesse by a neck in the second of two trials on Saturday for the Turf Paradise Maiden Stakes (not black type). The Royal Blue Chew Chew mare's time of :15.749 seconds, an 89-speed index, garnered the top qualifying spot.

The 10 fastest qualifiers will return to Turf Paradise on Saturday, December 17th to vie for the winner's share of a yet-to-be announced purse going 300 yards.

Making just her second start of the year, Houdini Sisco was ridden by Jorge Bourdieu and conditioned by Benito Vega. Rafael Ruiz Olivas owns the 4-year-old Oklahoma-bred mare out of Sisco Special by Strawflyin Buds. She has compiled a (11) 1-3-1 record and earned $9,362. Randy Fulton is the breeder.

Desert Classic Derby third-place finisher Extreme Regard was an impressive one-length winner under jockey Emilo Tapia in the first trial for trainer Leonard Espinoza. Making just his third start, the 3-year-old Chicks Regard gelding races for owners Diana Rodriguez and Christian Quinonez.

KH Logax, Inc. bred Extreme Regard in Oklahoma from the Streakin Six mare Sixy Streak. The stakes-placed gray is (3) 1-0-1 and earned $4,5887.
