AJAX, ONT—JULY 24, 2016—Coming off an impressive maiden debut on June 19th, Home To Vegas kept his record a perfect 2-for-2 with a convincing 2¼ length win over Later Tater to set the fastest time for the Ontario Sires Stakes Futurity Sunday afternoon at Ajax Downs.

The 10 fastest 2-year-olds, sired by an Ontario registered stallion, will return to Ajax Downs on Sunday August 14th to vie for the winners' share of a $55,000-added purse over 330 yards.

Ridden by jockey Tony Phillips, Home To Vegas rolled over the 330 yards course in :17.260 seconds, into a 9 mph crosswind, to set the top qualifying mark. Bob Broadstock conditions the son of Down Home Dash for owners Brian Samis and Marie Broadstock.

Gayle Sommer, DVM bred the bay gelding in Ontario from the Gold Medal Jess mare Cash Into Vegas. He has earned $8,291 in his two appearances.

The badly beaten Later Tater held onto the second fastest time of :17.700 seconds. Michelle Woodley saddled the homebred for owner Gary McNichol. Gary and Marlene Nichol bred the first-time starter from the Eyesa Special mare Eyesa Quick. Cory Spataro had the riding assignment.

Full Circle Racing's homebred Home Ice defeated Arising Miracle by a head in the second trial to tie for the second fastest clocking of :17.700 seconds. Greg Watson saddled the first-time starter to his first win with Shanley Jackson getting the riding call. The son of Iced N Oak is out of Driving Annie Home, by Down Home Dash.
