EDMONTON, ALB—JUNE 29, 2016—Multiple stakes winner Kr Streakin Version added another notch to his belt Wednesday with a 1¾-length win over Free Thought in the $16,674(US) Black Gold Insulation Classic at Northlands Park in Edmonton. Tequila Tuesday finished four lengths back in the show position.
Ridden by jockey Freddy Fuentes, Kr Streakin Version completed the 770-yard course in :40.360 seconds, a 100-speed index, to pick up a winner's check worth $8,837(US).
It was the first win this season, in three starts, for the son of Latest Version owned by Marvin Christensen and Richard Aldoff. Laurie Ferguson conditions the Montana-bred 10-time winner.
The partnership of Hermstad, Perry and Kyler bred the bay from the Streakin La Jolla mare Streakin Miss Tina. An 8-year-old, Kr Streakin Version has compiled a (30) 10-5-1 record and earned $71,123.
Graded stakes-placed Tequila Tuesday earned $2,001(US) for owner/breeders Barr and Janice Sather. Janice trains the Coronas Fast Dash gelding out of Keep On Keppin On, by Dash To Chivato. Juan Gonzalez had the riding call aboard the Alberta-bred.
Petes Fate, Birdzillas Charm, Jess Utellum, Big Bad Hoss, Wild River Jess, Asbigastexas and Big Hoss Rollin completed the field.
