Embrace Extravagence Returns To Win Picov Derby at Ajax Downs

AJAX, ONT—AUGUST 30, 2015—Fastest qualifier Embrace Extravagence dominated her competitors Sunday scoring a three-quarter length win over Fiesty Icon in the $82,302(US) Picov Derby at Ajax Downs. Toodles Destiny finished half-a-length back in the show position.

Cassandra Jeschke rode the lightly raced Embrace Extravagence to her third win four career starts. The time of the race was not available from Equibase.

Michelle Woodley conditions the Wild Boyz filly out of Special Royal Takeon, by Strawfly Special, for owners Patricia Ball and Michelle and Gary McNichol. The $34,143(US) winner's purse boosted the sorrel filly's earnings to nearly $43,000.

Fiesty Icon, a gelded son of Sugarman Perry, races for owner/trainer Richard Kennedy. Carly Furlonger rode the stakes-placed gelding out of Fiesty Spirit, by Special Effort. Bred in Ontario by Picov Cattle Company, Fiesty Icon earned $17,074(US) for the effort.

Rene Wilson saddled Toodles Destiny to her third place finish for owner Bryan Calloway. Dylan Williams rode the First Down Mr Jess filly out of Toodledoo Otoole, by Jody O Toole. Freddie Yamaguchi bred the bay in Texas. She earned $7,401(US) for the effort.

Eyes That Tell, Im Aquicktrick, Fearghas, Deal A Fortune, Selective Memory, Irish Whisky and Eyesa Speedy Simon completed the field.
