Bh Lisas Boy Wins Sun Downs Quarter Horse Derby

KENNEWICK, WA—APRIL 26, 2015—Making his first start of the year, Bh Lisas Boy rolled to a three-quarter length win over Movin Assets in the $4,200 Sun Downs Quarter Horse Derby (not black-type) Sunday afternoon in Kennewick, Washington. Cops R Zoomin finished 1¼ lengths back in third.

Co-owned-bred-and-trained by Bill Hoburg, Bh Lisas Boy completed the 350 yards in :17.870 seconds to pocket the winner's check of $2,310. Robert Burney was aboard the Barbara Davis and Holburg owned son of Mighty Invictus. He is out of the Snowbound (TB) mare Apollo Snowbound.

A futurity winner last year at Portland Meadows, Bh Lisas Boy's record stands at (7) 5-1-0 with earnings of $23,975. Movin Assets broke sharp under jockey Connie Doll to settle for second place and earn $840. Carrie Hoburg conditions the Inseperable filly out of Movin Meter, by Meter Me Gone. She is a homebred racing for Brenda Hoover and Kent Hoover.

Jim and Colleen Ledgerwood, sponsors of the Sun Downs Quarter Horse Derby, present the stakes blanket to the winning connections on Sunday afternoon at Sun Downs.

Also a stakes winner last season, Cops R Zoomin races for Pedro Sanguino and is trained by Jose Sanguino. The Shazoomin Star filly was ridden by jockey Kassie Guglielmino and picked up $546 to push her earnings over $20,000. Michelle Dressler bred the chestnut filly in Oregon from the Ex Marks The Cop (TB) mare My Fashion Cop.

Cancino Effort and Seperatefromdarest completed the field. Chicks R Gone and Silvies were both scratched.
