Cuz Eyema Cowboy Baby Captures Speedhorse Paint and Appaloosa Futurity Championship at Will Rogers

CLAREMORE, OK—NOVEMBER 11, 2025—Multiple stakes winner Cuz Eyema Cowboy Baby proved his class and determination on Tuesday afternoon at Will Rogers Downs, rallying late to win the $43,603 Speedhorse Paint and Appaloosa Futurity Championship at 400 yards for 2-year-old Paints and Appaloosas.

Under jockey Roman Cruz, the sorrel gelding surged past early leader Marvelous Marv to score by a neck in 20.161 seconds, earning a speed index of 88 with a 20-mph crosswind on a fast track.

The Oklahoma-bred son of leading Quarter Horse sire Flying Cowboy 123 from the mare Cuz Eyema Livewire, by Crm Livewire, is trained by Jesus Ruben Ruiz for owners and breeders Gary and Charity Hensley.

The victory was worth $16,569 to his connections as the talented juvenile battled every step to earn the title. A winner of four of nine starts this season, including the Speedhorse Paint and Appaloosa Futurity(G1) at Fair Meadows, Cuz Eyem Cowboy Baby has banked $68,896.

Marvelous Marv, a gelding by leading APHA sire Crm Livewire out of Rf Livies Special, by Desirio, finished second after breaking sharply from the inside post and leading early before being caught late.

Ridden by Mario Delgado for trainer Dee Keener, the Oklahoma-bred runner earned $7,413 for owner 918 Bloodstock. He was bred by Marvin L. and/or Pam Wilcox and continued his strong juvenile campaign with another competitive effort against a quality field. Marvelous Marv has earned $30,410 in nine starts.

Turnpike Bandit, ridden by Cordarelton J. Benn, finished third for trainer Stacey L. Capps and owners Mark and Lori Dolan, who also bred the gelding in Oklahoma.

By world champion Painted Turnpike and out of Shakeemwhileyoucan, by Red Oak Special, Turnpike Bandit ran gamely throughout, pressing the pace before finishing just three-quarters of a length behind the runner-up and earning $4,797 for his solid performance, bringing his total to $22,944.

Pari-mutuel payoffs returned $3.60 to win, $3.00 to place, and $2.60 to show for Cuz Eyema Cowboy Baby; $8.20 to place and $6.20 to show for Marvelous Marv; and $3.60 to show for Turnpike Bandit. The $2 exacta paid $30.80, the 50-cent trifecta paid $53.75, and the 10-cent superfecta returned $51.36.

Flight Risk, Big Poppy, Vexing Queen, Cancel Culture, Southern Turquoise, and Run for Miles completed the order of finish.
