GRAND PRAIRIE, TX—MARCH 20, 2020—We are committed to creating and maintaining a safe and healthy racing environment and entertainment experience for our horsemen, patrons and employees.

While there have been no known cases of COVID-19 (Coronavirus) at Lone Star Park, we have remained in close consultation with local and state health officials throughout the current public health challenge.

In compliance with Governor Greg Abbott's order to limit gatherings of more than 10 people to slow the spread of the virus and in consultation with the Texas Racing Commission, Lone Star Park will not allow horses to enter the stables area in preparation for the 2020 Thoroughbred Season which is currently slated to begin April 16, 2020. We believe the process of accepting horses at the track may make it more difficult for trainers, jockeys and other staff to practice social distancing compared to their daily routines to prepare for each race day.

The temporary postponement takes effect Friday, March 20, 2020, at 2:30 p.m. through April 3, 2020. At that time, we will reevaluate the situation based on available information, consultation with health officials and additional direction from Governor Abbott.

We believe the action we take today in coordination with Governor Abbott's office and consultation with the Texas Racing Commission is in the best interest of the public health while also protecting the Texas horse industry and community.
