2018 AQHA Racing Champions Ceremony Set Thursday
The 2018 AQHA Racing Champions Ceremony will get underway at 6:00 p.m. (CST) on January 17 at Heritage Place in Oklahoma City.

2018 AQHA Racing Champions Ceremony Set Thursday

OKLAHOMA CITY, OK—JANUARY 14, 2019—The American Quarter Horse Association will honor their 2018 AQHA Racing Champions on Thursday in Oklahoma City.

The 2018 Champions ceremony will get underway at 6:00 p.m. (CST) in the Heritage Place Sale Company auditorium following a 5 p.m. cocktail party to kickoff the 2019 Heritage Place Winter Mixed Sale.

Winner's select in voting earlier this month by the AQHA Racing Champion Selection committee will be announced for the following divisions:

  • Distance Champion
  • Canadian Champion
  • Mexican Champion
  • 2-Year-Old Colt
  • 2-Year-Old Filly
  • 2-Year-Old Gelding
  • 3-Year-Old Colt
  • 3-Year-Old Filly
  • 3-Year-Old Gelding
  • Aged Stallion
  • Aged Mare
  • Aged Gelding
  • Champion Owner
  • Champion Breeder
  • Blane Schvanevedldt Champion Trainer
  • Champion Jockey

The overall division champion 2-Year-Old, 3-Year-Old and Aged Horse will be follow and the announcement of the selection of 2018 AQHA Racing World Champion will conclude the event.

The 2019 Heritage Place Winter Mixed Sale, scheduled January 18-19, will get underway with an early start time at 9:00 a.m. Friday. The final session will be held on Saturday, also starting at 9:00 a.m.

The Oklahoma Quarter Horse Racing Association (OQHRA) will also conduct a meeting with interested horsemen at 8 AM Friday in the auditorium at Heritage Placer to provide information on the requirement by Remington Park that no horse will be allowed to enter a race at Remington Park during the 2019 Quarter Horse meet unless results of a negative hair test has been provided to the racing secretary prior to entry.

If you are unable to attend in person, the ceremony will be aired via live webcast, which can be accessed several ways.

Desktop Computer: Go to www.aqha.com/racing in your Web browser. The player will be immediately available and free to view.

Mobile Devices: Mobile users, both iOS and Android, have two options. A user can open a Web browser window and type in www.livestream.com, click "Discover" and then search "AQHA" in the events search which is the magnifying glass icon. Click on "2018 AQHA Racing Champions Award Ceremony" to view. Alternatively, mobile users can also download the free Livestream mobile app. Find this by searching "livestream" in your App Store or Google Play. You will be required to create and log in to a Livestream account, which is also free. It requires your name, email and password, but after that, you will have immediate access. Once you download the app, search "AQHA" and then look for "2018 AQHA Racing Champions Award Ceremony" to view.

Roku: Roku users can also access the webstream, allowing them to view the ceremony from their television or other devices. From your Roku, add the Livestream channel to your library (this is free). When you open the Livestream channel, you can select the 2018 AQHA Racing Champions Award Ceremony or scroll to the bottom to search for it. There is no need to log into this channel.
