POMONA, CA—JUNE 30, 2018—A celebration of life honoring Tom "The Mongoose" McEwen will be held Saturday, July 14th at 2:00 P.M. at the Sheraton Conference Center at 601 W McKinley Avenue on the Fairplex in Pomona, California.

McEwen, who passed away at his home on June 10th, was 81.

McEwen was voted No. 16 on the NHRA Top 50 all-time drivers list. He was instrumental in bringing major non-automotive sponsorships to drag racing when he and long-time rival Don "The Snake" Prudhomme formed the Wildlife Racing team with backing from Mattel Toys Hot Wheels. He was a member of the Drag Racing Hall of Fame and the Motorsports Hall of Fame.
