Precautionary Measures Taken, Live Racing Continues at Sunland Park Racetrack & Casino

SUNLAND PARK, NM—DECEMBER 29, 2017—Today (December 29), Sunland Park Racetrack and Casino management were informed that a single horse on the grounds had spiked a temperature.

As a precaution, the horse was removed from the grounds and located in an isolated environment. The barn from which the horse came is now under isolation and any horses from the barn will not be allowed to train nor will they be allowed to have contact with other horses.

Any individuals who have association with this barn also will be restricted to the barn in question. All other horses on the grounds will be allowed to continue their normal training and racing regimen. Any trainers who have questions about the health of their horses are encouraged to contact their local veterinarian.
