Important Texas-Bred Deadlines December 31

ELGIN, TX—DECEMBER 28, 2017—Horsemen and women have until Sunday, December 31, to get their Texas-Bred accreditations filed with the Texas Quarter Horse Association (TQHA).

Sunday's deadline for accredited yearlings (foals of 2016) may be registered at a rate of $100 for TQHA members or $150 for non-members. After the December 31 deadline, the rate will increase to $500 for TQHA members and $550 for non-members.

To be eligible for ATB breeder awards, horsemen and women should be sure that their mares foaling in Texas in 2018 are accredited as Texas-bred breeding stock by Sunday, December 31. The regular enrollment fee (January 1 thru June 30) is $50 for members and $100 for non-members. Late enrollment fees (July 1 thru December 31) is $100 for members and $150 for non-members.

In order to receive stallion awards for 2018 foals, owners must make sure their stallion(s) are enrolled as accredited breeding stock and pay the Stallion Participation fee by Sunday, December 31.

Annual stallion enrollment fees for accredited Texas-Bred are $50 for members and $100 for non-members if they pay between January 1 and April 15 of enrollment year. Late enrollments of $100 for member and $150 for non-members are accepted from April 16 thru Sunday, December 31.

Annual Stallion Participation fees (paid only if the stallion owner wishes to receive annual stallion awards) are:

  • January 1 thru January 31: $100 for member and $150 for non-members
  • February 1 thru April 15: $150 for member and $200 for non-members
  • April 16 thru December 31: $300 for member and $350 for non-members

Stallion owners may also choose to pay a "Lifetime Participation Fee" of $500 for members or $550 for non-members.
