SUNLAND PARK, NM—JANUARY 21, 2017—Beginning Friday, January 27, Sunland Park Racetrack and Casino will alter its racing format to all-Quarter Horse races on Fridays and all-Thoroughbred cards on Saturdays, Sundays and Tuesdays.

Quarter Horse stakes races prescribed on the weekends will be held immediately after the last Thoroughbred race.

On Sunday, January 29, 11 races will be carded. The $50,000 KOFX-Radio Handicap (Grade 2) at 350 yards and the $85,000 Dona Ana County at 440 yards will be the last two races on the program.

That blockbuster day also features the $100,000 Riley Allison Derby at one mile and the $65,000 El Paso Times Stakes at six and one-half furlongs. The Riley Allison is a local prep for the $800,000 Sunland Derby (Grade 3) to be held on Sunday, March 26.

Post time each day remains 12:45 p.m. (MST).
