AMERICAN QUARTER HORSE ASSOCIASTION—MARCH 2, 2015—AQHA President Johnny Trotter of Hereford, Texas, was recognized by the state of Texas on March 3 for his many accomplishments and honors in the state, including his contributions as AQHA President, being inducted into the Texas Cowboy Hall of Fame this year, his tireless work as one of the country’s largest feed yard owners, horse breeder, community leader and, of course, philanthropist.

The 84th Legislature of the state of Texas recognized Trotter on the senate floor for his many achievements.

Trotter, who has served as an AQHA director for 11 years, is the CEO of Livestock Investors LLT and owns Bar G Feedyard. His involvement in the American Quarter Horse industry is focused on racing, roping and horses used for ranch work and breeding. He is an avid team roper and participates in numerous ropings, including the World Series of Team Roping.

“I think I speak for all of us at the American Quarter Horse Association in saying how proud we are of Johnny and how fitting this recognition is,” said AQHA Executive Vice President Don Treadway Jr. “Johnny is dedicated to his family, his work, his passions and his faith, and I cannot think of a more deserving person than he to be honored by his home state.”

Trotter is very involved in his local community, having served on the West Texas A&M University Foundation, West Texas A&M University Alumni Association and the Make-A-Wish Foundation. He is a former member of the Texas Cattle Feeders board of directors and was the 2006 recipient of the Tri-State Fair Western Heritage Award.
