Still Deciding Where to Run, Florida Has Great Purses

TALLAHASSE, FL—AUGUST 12, 2014—FQHRA is urging horsemen to remember the great racing opportunities offered at Hialeah Park at the upcoming Winter Meet scheduled December 26, 2014 thru March 2, 2015.

Eight Quarter Horse races per day will offer daily purse averages of $140,000 and a total of $5.6 million dollars will be paid over the 40-day race meet. Major stakes trials will enjoy purses of $15,000 each, the second richest offered in American Quarter Horse racing.

The $500,000-est. Hialeah Park Derby will headline the 2014/2015 season. Other stakes included the $250,000-est. Hialeah Maturity, $250,000-est. South Florida QH derby, $95,000-est. Stallion Stakes Derby and the $30,000-added Sunshine State Derby. Nomination forms for these races can be found the FQHRA website or by CLICKING HERE.

Accredited Florida-breds will earn 20% more purse money for their owners and breeders over open horses at the 2014/2015 Hialeah Park meet, and 50% of the races will be accredited Florida bred preferred.
