ALEXANDRIA, LA—AUGUST 1, 2014—Preparations are already underway for the 38th annual LQHBA Yearling Sale set next Friday and Saturday (Aug 8-9) at the Coushatta Casino Resort in Kinder, Louisiana.

The annual sale featuring 534 head this year will get underway in the Coushatta Casino Resort Pavilion at 10:00 am both days. All yearlings cosigned to the sale are currently eligible to the $1,000,000 RG1 LQHBA Breeders Futurity in 2015.

Presale festivities will get underway at 6:30 p.m. Thursday (Aug 7) evening with the annual Robicheaux Ranch annual consignment preview and Cajun cookout. The public is invited to attend.

"Our members and consignors have really stepped-up and done an awesome job this year," Tony Patterson, Executive Director of LQHBA said today. "We have added a few new things this year aimed at assisting our buyers to give them an even better experience. We definitely appreciate all of our buyers and prospective buyers", he added.

This year the sale will have two Spanish interpreters present during both days of the sale. There will be an interpreter at a table on the sales floor and sale officials will also have an interpreter in the sales office. LQHBA will also be accepting credit cards for the first time this year.

According to Patterson they have had an increased number of catalog requests for this year's sale.

"With everything combined that is offered here in Louisiana . . . excellent purses, breeders awards and stallion awards, the $1,000,000 Breeders Futurity, a minimum of 148 guaranteed annual Quarter Horse racing days, numerous Louisiana-Bred futurities, our new LQHBA Breeders Derby ($150,000 added) beginning in 2015, a proven history of runners and one of the best yearling sales in the country – we are hoping for the best", Patterson said.
