ALEXANDRIA, LA—JUNE 24, 2014—LQHBA announced today they expect to catalog 534 yearlings for their upcoming annual yearling sale scheduled August 8-9 at the Coushatta Casino Resort in Kinder, Louisiana.
Last year the sale grossed more than $3.8 million with 367 yearlings averaging over $10,300 per head.
"We are expecting another great sale," Tony Patterson, LQHBA Executive Director said this week.
Buyers from last year's sale are already seeing a return on their investments and include 2014 $286,280 LQHBA Lassie Futurity(RG2) winner Embrujo Star ($157,660), purchased for $5,000; 2014 LQHBA Laddie Futurity(RG2) winner Game ($162,402), purchased for $12,000; and 2014 $282,514 Mardi Gras Futurity(RG2) winner Hemps Jumpn Lajolla ($153,812), purchased for $7,200, to name a few.
In last weekends $645,645 Lee Berwick Futurity(RG1) trials eight of the 10 qualifiers are 2013 LQHBA Yearling Sale Graduates.
The 2014 online catalog will be available next month and hard bound copies are expected to mailed shortly thereafter.
