Nellie Delaney Holds Firm Atop Poll

AMERICAN QUARTER HORSE ASSOCIATION, APRIL 23, 2014—There were no major changes to this week's AQHA Racing-Horseplayernow.com National Poll for older horses as Nellie Delaney continued to lead the charge. The Los Alamitos Winter Championship (G1) heroine garnered 100 out of 110 possible points in this week’s balloting.

While the Top 10 remained intact this week, pollsters did make a slight shuffle with No. 8 Moonist leaping one spot over Somethin Like This. The latter, winner of the Eastex Handicap (G2) and runner-up in the Leo Stakes (G1), slid one spot after finishing fourth Sunday in a Remington Park allowance as the odds-on favorite.

The season's first national poll for 2-year-olds will debut next week and run each Wednesday through the end of the calendar year.
