SHREVEPORT, LA—APRIL 22, 2014—Louisiana-based rider Danny Lavergne will begin the 2014 Quarter Horse meet at Delta Downs after eclipsing a career milestone of 2000 wins in the last month of the 2014 Louisiana Downs meet.
In the first race March 10, 2014 at Louisiana Downs, aboard Kenneth Roberts trained Miss Barton County, Lavergne surpassed the 2000 win threshold in a $5,000 claiming event. Through the end of the 2014 Louisiana Downs meet, Lavergne finished with his career total at 2005 wins.
Lavergne saw his largest career win come in the 2013 running of the $1,000,000 RG1 LQHBA Breeders Futurity aboard Kenneth Roberts trained Ole Time Preacher Man. The son of Heza Fast Dash, out of the Streakin La Jolla mare Jj Streakin Illusion, earned $445,000 for the RG1 win.
