OKLAHOMA CITY, OK—APRIL 14, 2014—Two track records fall over the weekend of racing at Remington Park. Thursday, Pure D Spit wins his fourth straight victory (third at Remington) in record time of 16.323. The previous record for 330 yards set by This Candys Awesome on March 16 was lowered by .021 of a second.

With the win, Oklahoma bred Pure D Spit climbs to number one in the horse standings. In the final race on Sunday’s card, Stroller capitalized on the post rain conditions and strong tailwinds to cross the wire in record time of 16.983 shaving .077 off the previous 350 yard track record set by Cruzin The Wagon in 2012.

Berkley Packer was impressive with a total of seven wins over the four days of racing to tie Jimmy Brooks in the jockey standings, each with 27 wins. G.R. Carter remains the high money earning jockey with a total of $579,278 and 22 wins. Carter edges closer to becoming the sport’s all-time leading jockey by wins with his season at Remington, now only 34 wins from the milestone.

Paint Horse Queens and trainer Dee Keener both move to number three in the owner and trainer standings with a successful day of trials to the Grade 1 PSBA American Paint Classic Futurity on Sunday. Keener saddled a total of four qualifiers, three of which were for the Paint Horse Queens including the fastest qualifier, High On Mary Jane.

Remington Park’s American Quarter Horse & Mixed-breed Season races each week Thursday thru Sunday. Thursday, Friday and Saturday first post 6pm. Sunday afternoon racing starts at 1:30pm.
