Fales, Bourdieu Team Sweeps Leading Quarter Horse Honors at Turf Paradise

PHONEIX, AZ—APRIL 30, 2013—Ralph and Carolyn Fales homebred Block N Tackle has been named the Quarter Horse of the Meet at Turf Paradise.

The 4-year-old son of Tac It Like a Man is undefeated in six starts at Turf Paradise during his lifetime. During the recent 2012/2013 Quarter Horse Meet he won the AQRA Turf Paradise Derby on December 1.

Out of the Takin On The Cash mare Watchin The Rain, Block N Tackle has won nine of 14 career starts and earned $181,902.

Ralph and Carolyn Fales were also named Leading Quarter Horse Owners of the Meet. From the start of the meet on September 28, 2012 through April 30, 2013 the Coolidge, Arizona couple have won 16 races (36%) from 45 starts and earned $94,930. The stable has been in the money 64% of the time for the meet.

Matthew Fales, trainer of Block N Tackle, was named the Leading Quarter Horse Trainer of the Meet. The son of Ralph and Carolyn saddled 32 winners, 18 seconds and 23 thirds from 119 starts. His mounts have earned $196,238. His most recent stakes wins were April 26 when he saddled the winners of both the AQRA President's Open Spring Futurity and AQRA President's Open Spring Derby.

It comes as no surprise that Martin Bourdieu who rides for first call for Fales was named the Leading Quarter Horse Jockey of the Meet. He booted 34 winners, 29 seconds and 14 thirds from 123 starts, earning $194,917. He was aboard Phone Tag in the AQRA President's Open Spring Futurity and Cuz I Say So in the AQRA President's Open Spring Derby.
