DALLAS, TX—JUNE 8, 2020—Leading first-crop sires One Fabulous Eagle and Jess Good Candy each sired the first black-type runner on Sunday in the Grade 1 $1- million Ruidoso Futurity at Ruidoso Downs.
Champion Jess Good Candy's Misscandymountain finished a close second to earn $180,000 for her effort. The restricted grade-1 filly entered the final off an impressive 1- ½ length trial win in her career debut May 22.
Stakes winner and Grade 1-placed One Fabulous Eagle's Jettz finished third Ruidoso Futurity(G1) to earn $100,000. The most seasoned horse in the Ruidoso field, Jettz has compiled a (4) 1-0-2 record and earned $168,834. He was also a finalist in the restricted Grade 1 Remington Park Oklahoma-Bred Futurity in April.
Jess Good Candy is right on his heels as the #2 first-crop sire with earnings of over $252,000 off four winners from 44 starters.
Glock, a Grade 1-placed son of Foose, continues to be the only first-crop sire to have a stakes winner in 2020 with Kp Dillion, taking the Hadley-Giles Futurity on May 24. Glock got two qualifiers to the $95,846 Beehive Futurity on Sunday including fastest qualifier Shot Byou and 5th fastest the aforementioned Kp Dillon.
Glock is currently the #5 first-crop sire of money earners in 2020 with three winners from five starters. They have earned $38,237.
