BLUFF DALE, UT—JUNE 15, 2019—Grade 1 winner One Handsome Man sired his first stakes winner on Saturday when Shinning Bianca won the $17,950 Dolls Prodigy Stakes at Arapahoe Park in Aurora, Colorado.
After stumbling at the start, jockey Jesus Olivas picked up Shinning Bianca to finish a head in front of stakes winner Dg Tempter while completing the 350 yards in :17.640 seconds, a 91 speed index into a 4 mph headwind.
It was the fourth career win in 11 starts for the 4-year-old Colorado-bred racing for owner-breeder Hugo Barron Sierra and trainer Jose Barron. The sorrel mare earned $10,770 to boost her career earnings total to more than $41,000. She is out of the Tres Seis mare Seis Star Glitter.
From three crops to race, the son of leading sire One Famous Eagle is the sire of 8 winners and 3 stakes horses from a limited number of starters.
Owned by O-ne Handsome Man Syndicate, the gray stallion won the 2012 Grade 1 Dash For Cash Futurity and was a finalist in the Grade 1 Texas Classic Derby at Lone Star Park. He won or placed in seven of 10 career starts to 3 and earned $188,777.
Out of the First Down Dash mare Helens First Choice, a grade 1 West Texas Futurity finalist, One Handsome Man is a brother to Grade 2 Heritage Place Derby winner This Dude Can Fly ($186,603).
His dam is a sister to AQHA Racing champion, All American Futurity(G1) winner and leading sire Royal Quick Dash ($1,046980), AQHA Racing Champion First Sovereign ($278,829), Grade 1 winner and Grade 1 sire A Regal Choice ($795,507), Grade 1 winner Harems Last Dash ($169,957) and stakes winner First Rate Choice ($98,220), etc.
