Young Stallions Get First Stakes Winner in August

DALLAS, TX—SEPTEMBER 1, 2015—Three young sires got their first stakes winners in August.

Favorite Cartel
First crop sire Favorite Cartel got his first stakes winner when Luv On The Run dead-heated for a win in the $46,800 John Deere California Juvenile Challenge at Los Alamitos Race Course August 22. The colt races for owner Jesus Nava of Santa Ana, California. Mr. and Mrs. Judd Morse bred the colt in California from the A Classic Dash mare Luv In The Wind.

Favorite Cartel has sired 22 winners from 56 starters with earnings of more than $266,000. The 8-year-old son of Favorite Trick (TB) is out of the Corona Cartel mare Shenoshercorona.

Owned by Burns/Jones/Thompson Racing Inc., he won or placed in 15 of 25 career starts and earned $607,669. Favorite Cartel is a three-time stakes winner, including the 2011 Bank of America Challenge Championship (G1). Favorite Cartel stands at Burns Ranch at Menifee, California.

First Dinastia
First Dinastia sired his first stakes winner on August 30 when Quickie Rickie won the $49,500 Iowa Stallion Derby (R) at Prairie Meadows. Owned and raced by Bob Urich of Des Monies, Quickie Rickie was bred by Richard Lee Reed . The gelding is out of the Special Eye Appeal mare Special Stepper. He has now won two of seven starts, with one additional second place finish, and has career earnings of $44,046. First Dinastia is an 11-year-old son of all-time leading sire First Down Dash out of the Tolltac mare Dinastia Toll BRZ. The full brother to champion and leading sire FDD Dynasty was a race winner and a stakes-placed runner with earnings of $42,985.

Owned by Meadow Ridge Farms LLC, First Dinastia has sire four winners from 10 starters with earnings of $161,830. He is also the sire of stakes-placed runner Docs First Dynasty ($52,530).

First Dinastia stands at Midwest Equine and Veterinary Hospital in Trafalgar, Indiana.

Hearts Miracle
Hearts Miracle, an 11-year-old son of champion and multiple stakes sire Dean Miracle, got his first stakes winner on August 23 when RG Miracle won the $102,000 New Mexico Breeders’ Futurity (RG3). RG Miracle is a homebred racing for Shirley Grisham of Albuquerque. He got his second career win, from six starts, with the impressive stakes victory. RG Miracle has career earnings of $70,352. The gelding is out of the Thoroughbred mare Purple Ice by Mountain Metal.

Hearts Miracle is out of the Ronas Ryon mare Heart Sparks. An earner of $72,071, Osvaldo Perez of Albuquerque owns the young stallion. He has sired two winners from seven starters, with earnings of $103,756. He stands at Luis Perez Farm in Albuquerque.
