Q-RACING JOURNAL—JULY 21, 2015— The TQHA Yearling Sale happens this coming weekend in San Antonio, and this past weekend gave us a good reminder of the kind of deals you can pick up there.
Today’s case in point: Mr Effortless Reign, who was purchased for a mere $2,200 just a year ago and paid off his purchase price-plus-a-half with only a maiden win. Now with his fourth start, he is a stakes winner, having won this weekend’s $47,850 TQHA Futurity (R) for Texas-bred 2-year-olds via disqualification. He has earned $19,948, an 88% return on investment in a year’s time.
Mr Effortless Reign is campaigned by Damika Burton of San Antonio, and was bred by Gus Barakis’ Scarlett Hill Farm Inc.
