Jess Louisiana Blue Sires Three Two-Year-Old Stakes Winners Over Weekend

VENTRESS, LA—JULY 12, 2015—Champion and multiple stakes sire Jess Louisiana Blue sired three two-year-old stakes winners over the July 11-12 weekend who earned more than $400,000 in a 48 hour period.

He got his biggest winner Saturday night when Jessa Louisiana Zoom rolled to a one-length victory in the $634,530 Lee Berwick Futurity(RG1) at Delta Downs. Owned by Jason Richards and Michael Leblanc the Jess Louisiana Blue filly pushed her record to a perfect 4-for-4 while getting her second futurity win of 2015.

Frank Cavazos trains the earner of $473,163. Bred by Lyle Guillory from the Azoom mare Zoomin For Cash, Jess Louisiana Zoom also won the Lassie Futurity(RG2) in May.

Jess Louisiana Blue's second two-time futurity winner of the year came on Sunday when Three Olives N Smoke raced to a one-length effort in the $148,950 Rocky Mountain Futurity. Owned by Margo Schares and Brad Thomas the bay colt also won the Cherry Creek Futurity on June 7. Trained by John Hammes and bred by Schares, from the Corona Cartel mare Smokin Corona, Three Olives N Smoke has won four of five starts earned $103,444.

On Saturday night Jess Louisiana Blue sired the first and third finishers in the $50,000 Louisiana Juvenile Invitational at Delta Downs. Lyle Guillory's Blues Favorite Fish was neck winner to earn $30,000 and Rosalio Espinosa's Jess Blueby Lena finished third to earn $5,500.

From 10 crops to race, Jess Louisiana Blue has sired more than 60 stakes horses and earners of over $11. 4 million with average earnings per starter of nearly $30,000.
