Maui Farms Sold, Jess Jones to James Ranch

PURCELL, OK—JUNE 25, 2015—Vicki Coldiron, owner-operator of Maui Farms near Purcell, announced today she has sold the farm and plans to retire from the racing industry. The horsewoman has stood several stallions at her Oklahoma establishment over the past 25 years, including multiple stakes sires Coronas Prospect and One Corona.

"I plan to spend time between two homes and enjoy my retirement," Vicki said Wednesday. "We have just completed another successful breeding seasons and I am so happy that Corona's Prospect and Jess Jones has moved to James Ranch," she said. "I went over to see them today and they look wonderful. I know the David and Janet James will take wonderful care of the stallions and Maui's customers."

Coldiron said that a Brazilian group that is in the reining horse industry has purchased Maui Farm.

James Ranch announced earlier this month that champion sire Coronas Prospect will stand the 2016 season at their farm near Wayne, Oklahoma in 2016 (see related story).

Owned by J.D. Anderson, Jess Jones SI 114 is a Grade 3 winner and track record setting son of Mr Jess Perry. He won or placed in 15 races and earned $164,159. He won the SLM Big Daddy Stakes(G3), Pauls Valley Handicap(G3), Oklahoma Centennial Stakes and Expo Square Stakes. He was also a finalist in the G1 Remington Park Invitational, G3 Remington Park Distance Handicap, etc.

Jess Jones is out of the stakes-placed G1 All American Futurity finalist Disco Del Rey SI 112 ($110,626), dam of 18 ROM including stakes winner Dash Del Rey SI 103 ($92,170), Oklahoma Futurity(G2) winner Fast Del Rey SI 08 ($58,608), stakes-placed Folly Del Rey SI 97 ($160,319), stakes-placed Runaway Del Rey SI 101 ($26,672), etc. His first crop-to-race are two-year-olds of 2015.
