WEATHERFORD, TX—FEBRUARY 13, 2015—Category Five (TB), a son of Storm Cat and leading California Freshman sire in 2003, will stand the 2015 season at Weatherford Equine Breeding Center near Weatherford, Texas. His fee is $2,500 to Thoroughbreds and $1,500 to Quarter Horses.
Owned by Mesa Farms, Category Five won or placed in four of 10 career starts and earned $43,425.
Category Five entered stud in 2000 and is the sire earners of more than $1.8 million, five stakes horses including Indiana Futurity winner Edgerrin (18 wins, $460,803), multiple stakes winner Ragin Wind (4 wins, $100,279), stakes-placed track record holder Cinnapie (4 wins, $55,814), stakes-placed Lady Laverne (2 wins, $50,575), etc.
He is a son of the G1 winner and legendary sire Storm Cat ($570,510), sire of more than 160 stakes winners, eight champions and earners of over $112 million dollars.
The first dam is daughter of No Double out of the stakes winning and stakes producing Northern Dancer mare Cool Mood ($66,214).
