First Foal by Remington Park Futurity Winner Lota Pyc Arrives

WAYNE, OK—JANUARY 26, 2015—The first reported foal of Remington Park Futurity winner Lota Pyc was born Saturday (Jan. 24). Earnest Sumner of Checotah, Oklahoma, owns the colt out of the Tres Seis mare Caddo Ridge.

Owned-and-raced by Steve Holt, Lota Pyc won or placed in eight of 12 career starts while earning $330,855. He won the 2012 Remington Park Futurity and was a finalist in the Texas Classic Derby(G1 and Refrigerator Handicap(G1).

Lota Pyc is by the leading siring son of Corona Cartel, Pyc Paint Your Wagon. From six crops to race he has sired 361 winners(63%), 111 stakes horses(21%), $17.1 million in earnings and average earnings per starter of nearly $30,000.

Lota Pyc is out of the Shazoom mare Lotawatah, a 100% producer of ROM winners from four starters including Remington Park Futurity winner Lota Pyc SI 102 (see above), RG3 winner Regard Watah SI 105 (5 wins to 3, 2014, $93,718), stakes-placed Watah Success SI 101 (5 wins to 5, 2014, $67,642) and Jess Alota Fly SI 97 (2 wins at 2, 2014, $15,009).

His second dam, Streakin La Toya, by Streakin La Jolla, is the dam of four winners including Grade 1 Remington Park Futurity winner Redman Running SI 108 ($266,615) and Heritage Place Futurity(G1) runner-up Streakin Dunn Si 98 ($129,758), etc.
