Stalemates Getit Foose, Stripsteak Run 1-2 In Cup Classic Maturity

EDMONTON, ALB—OCTOBER 22, 2021—Getit Foose held sway over his stablemate Stripsteak to win the $11,400(US) Cup Classic Maturity (not black type) by a neck on Friday evening at Century Mile Racetrack.

Under jockey Ricardo Moreno, Getit Foose broke on top and held through out while completing the 440 yards in :22.201 seconds into a 30 mph crosswind. It was the fifth career win in 16 starts for the son of champion Foose. The $5,955(US) winner's purse boosted his bankroll to $33,896.

Trainer William Leech conditions the California-bred 4-year-old for owner Charles Stojan. Getit Foose is bred by Martha Wells from the Separatist mare Getit Together.

Multiple stakes winner Stripsteak finished second earning $2,922(US) for owner Stojan. Also trained by Leech, the son of multiple stakes sire One Sweet Jess was ridden by jockey J.B. Botello. Steve D. Burns, DVM bred the 6-year-old in California from the Separatist mare Ruths Chris. Stripsteak has earned $118,239 from 25 starts.

Stakes winner Honor The Fast Man and Geit Hot, a half-sister to winner Getit Foose, dead-heated for third, earning $1,181(US) each.

Also owned by Stojan and trained by Leech, Getit Hot was ridden by Corrine Andros. The stakes winning 5-year-old daughter of Walk Thru Fire, out of Getit Together by Separatist, has earned $74,339. Martha Wells also bred her.

Martin Ortiz rode Tom Kenway's owned-trained-and-bred Honor The Fast Man. The stakes winning son of Honor The Perry was bred in Alberta from the Heza Fast Man mare Buckle High. Honor The Fast Man has earned $94,050.

Chasin Harm, Ss Frost and Rj Fly Bye completed the field.
