AJAX, ONT—SEPTEMBER 9, 2019—Hospitaliti shipped North for the first time in his career to post the fastest qualifying time for the Picov Derby on Monday at Ajax Downs. The son of leading sire Mr Jess Perry defeated stakes winner Spy For The Senate by half-a-length to get the top time of :19.820 seconds, a 102 speed index with an 11 mph tailwind for the 400 yards.
The 10 fastest qualifiers will return to Ajax Downs on Monday, September 23rd to vie for the winners' share of a $50,000-added purse.
Trainer Greg Watson conditions the sorrel filly for owner Glenn L. Graff. Hospitaliti has raced at Indiana Grand and Remington Park in both 2018 and 2019. Hospitaliti was fifth in the Governor's Stakes last year.
Bobby D. Cox bred the filly in Texas from the Corona Cartel mare Shenoshercorona. She has compiled a (10) 3-1-1 record and earned $22,350 .
Milena Kwiecien's Alex Picov Memorial Futurity winner Spy For The Senate held on to the second fastest time of :19.940 seconds. Jason Pascoe trains the stakes wining son of Louisiana Senator. Bred in Oklahoma by Mary Hainline, from the Corona Cartel mare Corona Spy, the bay colt has won five of 15 starts and banked almost $70,000.

Pete Scarmardo bred Jess A Deal from the Mr Jess Perry mare Jess Marcy. She has compiled a (13) 2-1-2 record and earned $13,218.
