Crooked River Roundup Hosts Three Non-Black Type Stakes, Cm One Ina Bluemoon Gets New Track Record

PRINEVILLE, OR—JULY 13, 2019—The Crooked River Roundup in Prineville, Oregon hosted three non-black type stakes on their Saturday race card. The 4-year-old gelding Cm Once Ina Bluemoon broke a 14-yaer-old track record.

Jack Rhoden Memorial

Favorite Bling, a multiple stakes winning Oregon-bred mare, was moved to first after finishing a 1-½ lengths behind Bigtime Carter in the $13,500 Jack Rhoden Memorial (not black type). Bigtime Carter drifted out as the pair dueled early in the 250 yard event, interfering with Favorite Bling and jockey Jaime Lopez causing the change in the order of finish.

Trainer Jose Rosales Gomez saddled the 4-year-old daughter of leading sire Favorite Cartel for owner Juan Morales Garcia It was the fifth career win for the Favorite Bling who completed the race in :13.215 seconds, earning a 104 speed index.

Bred by Donald and Peggy Boyle, Favorite Bling earned $6,480 to bring her bankroll to just under $60,000. She is out of the Hawkinson mare Spring Bling, a sister to champion Strawkins and grade 1 winner Bf Farm Boss.

Racing for owner-trainer Abel Romero, Bigtime Carter earned $2,820 for second to bring his earnings total to $60,073. Paris Wixom bred the Carters Cartel gelding in Oklahoma from the First Down Dash mare Ms Dashin Bigtime. Ridden by jockey Raphael Romero, the multiple stakes winning gelding is a half-brother to champion sire Bigtime Favorite.

Stakes-placed Gonamakeureyesblack finished a neck back in third for owner Jose Mendoza and trainer Saul Rodriguez. Jose Rodriguez rode the 4-year-old son of Gonamakeyoureyesblue from the Willie Wanta Dash mare Hawaii Calls. Eloy Mendoza bred the sorrel gelding in New Mexico. He picked up $1,350 for the effort.

I Aint Callin, Summertime Hawk, Warhock, Shez Sneakin Fast and For Sweet Jess completed the field.

Princeville Quarter Horse Futurity

Coming off a fifth-placed effort in the $37,950 Gants Pass Firecracker Futurity on July 4, One Flyin Foose scored her third win in five starts this season following a one-length victory over Royal Pay Bac in the $7,050 Princeville Quarter Horse Futurity (not black type).

Racing as the posttime favorite, One Flyin Foose completed the 250 yards in :13.357 seconds, earning a 97 speed index and picking up the $2,820 winners' purse.

Trainer Freddy Ibarra saddled the bay daughter of champion sire Foose for owner/breeder Matt Huse. The Oregon-bred filly is out of One Famous Strawfly by One Famous Eagle. Also a finalist in the Pot O'Gold Futurity she has earned $8,220 this year. Jaime Lopez had the riding call.

Still a maiden from four starts this season, runner-up Royal Pac Bay earned $1,410 for finishing second. Juan Sanguino trains the son of Radical Splash for owner Sanguino Racing LLC. Tamyra McBride bred the brown gelding in Oregon from the Sixes Royal mare My Desert Sage. Jake Samuels was up.

Orange Vodka Shooter, a daughter of multiple stake sire Triple Vodka, finished a neck back to pick up $1,057 for third. Raphael Romero had the riding call for trainer Dabid Romero. Cinda and Rod Thomas own the bay filly out of Lil Orange Scooter by Heza Motor Scooter. Rod Thomas bred Orange Vodka Shooter in Idaho.

Corazon Rastado 727, Impact Dazzle, Js American Radical and El Rayo Amarillo completed the field. El Ganadero was scratched.

Crooked River Hook

Stakes winner Cm Once Ina Bluemoon bumped at the start under jockey Robert Burney but led throughout to defeat Hes A Bugin by half-a-length, setting a new track record in the $4,850 Crooked River Hook (not black type). Wanna Be Fierce finishing 4-¼ lengths back to take third.

Owned-and-trained by Nick Lowe, Cm Once Ina Bluemoon completed the 610 yards in :31.878 seconds, breaking the tracks previous record of :32 flat set on July 10, 2004 by Billeys Easter Dash. The gelded son of leading sire Ivory James equaled a 101 speed index.

Bred in Oregon by Randy Dickerson, from the Jess Louisiana Blue mare Cool Blue Corona, the bay gelding earned $2,667 to bring his earnings total to $53,500.

Gilberto Madrigal's Hes A Bugin earned $970 for finishing second. Jose Rosales Gomez conditions the 7-year-old Sixthirteen (TB) gelding out of Missy Nickle Bac by Splash Bac. Jaime Lopez was riding.

Third-place finisher Wanna Be Fierce races for owner-trainer Clifton Davis and was ridden by jockey Jake Samuels. The 7-year-old Oregon-bred son of Fastnfierce is out of A Special Review by Little Bit Dimmer. The stakes-placed gelding bred by Connie Buttice earned $533 to bring his earnings mark to $38,256.

Bh Country Chrome, Snowbound Preacher, Rtictac Man and Watch Me Fly Bye completed the field.
