Shinning Bianca Springs the Upset in Dolls Prodigy Win at Arapahoe Park

AURORA, CO – JUNE 15, 2019 - Shinning Bianca earned her first stakes win in the $17,950 Dolls Prodigy Stakes at Arapahoe on Saturday afternoon. The 4-year-old filly quickly overcame a stumbled start and led throughout the race to win as the second-longest price in the field.

Shinning Bianca ($22.00) and jockey Jesus Olivas posted a final time of 17.640 in the 350 yard race and earned a 91 speed index.

Shinning Bianca is bred and owned by Hugo Barron Sierra and is trained by Jose Barron. The Colorado-bred daughter of One Handsome Man is out of Seis Star Glitter, by Tres Seis.

This was the first start of the year for Shinning Bianca and her first career stakes victory. As a 2-year-old, she qualified for the Cherry Creek Futurity; as a 3-year-old, she competed in the Rocky Mountain Derby and the Lucille Rowe Derby, all at Arapahoe.

She is now three for 11 lifetime with earnings of $14,029.

Second-place finisher Dg Tempter earned another career stakes placing in the Dolls Prodigy. The 4-year-old gelding was third in the Rocky Mountain Derby last year and finished fourth in the Black Gold 440 Futurity (G3) at Will Rogers as a two-year-old.

Dg Tempter was ridden by Edwuin Lujan for trainer Hipolito Michel-Valverde and owners Pedro and Lilia Andazola. He was bred in Colorado by Richard and Genevieve Herrman, by Tempting Dash and out of the Bully Bullion mare Dg Miss Daisy.

Dg Tempter has won four of his 15 career starts and has earned $57,553.

Multiple stakes winner Perkin Desire completed the trifecta with Jhaciel Soto aboard. Owned and trained by Roberto Gomez, Perkin Desire was bred by Randall and Kasey Hund. The 5-year-old mare is by Desirio and is out of Fols Perky Cat, by Dash for Perks.

Perkin Desire was the defending champion of this race, which was held in July of 2018. She has also won the Leo Beau Dash Stakes and qualified for the Prairie Meadows Juvenile Challenge in 2016.

Completing the field were Toshi Yoshi, Shes My Foose, and Sweet N Sour Bars.
