Dreamin Woodrow Fastest in New Mexico Breeders’ Futurity Trials

FARMINGTON, NM —MAY 18, 2019 —The first of four trials to the New Mexico Breeders’ Futurity (RG3) on Saturday afternoon at SunRay Park produced the fastest qualifier, Dreamin Woodrow.

The $60,000-estimated New Mexico Breeders’ Futurity will be held on June 2.

Dreamin Woodrow ($11.00) posted the overall fastest qualifying time of 17.492. The 2-year-old son of Woodbridge was a gate to wire winner in his career debut.

Dreamin Woodrow was ridden by Mauro Salcedo for trainer Mario Fernandez and owners Juan Castro and Sergio Castro. He was bred in New Mexico by Mark and Peggy Brown, out of Frosty Dreams, by Legendary Dreamer.

The fourth and last trial produced the second and third fastest qualifiers, as Eyesa Specialfeature won by a neck over W R Ace On the Move.

Eyesa Specialfeature ($11.00) and Adrian Ramos covered the 350 yards in 17.588 to earn a 90 speed index. The 2-year-old gelded son of Tf Featured Effort is trained by Juan Gonzalez for owner Joe Rios.

Cynthia Dick bred Eyesa Specialfeature out of Three Past Six, by Tres Seis. Three Past Six was a graded stakes winner with earnings of $160,040. She won the Sunland Park Winter Derby (G2) in 2008, placed second in the Hobbs America Derby (G2), and was third in the Ruidoso Futurity (G1) in 2007.

Eyesa Specialfeature debuted at Sunland Park with a fourth-place finish in a trial. He brok his maiden at SunRay in his next start on May 3 and is now two for three lifetime with $19,045 in earnings.

W R Ace on the Move and Albert Medrano finished a neck behind Eyesa Specialfeature with a final time of 17.612 and an 89 speed index. Emilio Cadena III trains for owner Rose Webb, who also bred the gelding in NM. He was sired by Man on the Move and is out of WR Red Ace, by Lucky Aces N Eights.

W R Ace On the Move broke his maiden in his debut, in which he won his trial for the New Mexican Spring Futurity (RG1).
