You Have No Equal Victorious in Lethbridge Maiden Stakes

LETHBRIDGE, AB—MAY 18, 2019 —Now undefeated in two starts, You Have No Equal powered home to win the $13,115 Maiden Stakes (not black-type) in Lethbridge on Saturday afternoon.

You Have No Equal ($5.50) and jockey Dwight Lewis covered 350 yards in 17.287 and earned a speed index of 113.

You Have No Equal broke her maiden in her career debut just two weeks earlier, also at Lethbridge. The Five Bar Cartel filly is trained by William Leech and is owned by Luis Alvarez and Kathy McNiven.

A Regal Choice Inc. bred the 3-year-old filly in California, out of the First Down Dash mare Latin Queen.

Ifarm, with Jose Rocha aboard, edged out his stablemate Walters Cartel and D. I. Benitez by a neck to gain second place.

Though still a maiden in nine starts, Ifarm is multiple stakes placed, including a third-place finish in the Jerry Stojan Memorial Stakes, and he qualified for the Evergreen Park Juvenile Challenge.

Buckey Stockwell trains Ifarm; he and Beverly Stockwell own the 3-year-old gelded son of Coronado Cartel. He was bred in Oregon by Donald and Peggy Boyle, out of Avery Hope, by Mr Eye Opener.

Walters Cartel qualified for the stakes race conditions, but broke his maiden on May 4. The Stockwells also own Walters Cartel, who was bred in Utah by McColee Land & Livestock LLC. Walters Cartel is by Corona Cartel and is out of the Heza Fast Man mare First Lady Amber.
