Wise Fool Wins Rillito Park's Rulon Goodman Maiden
Rillito Park hosted the $8,500 Rulon Goodman Maiden (not black type) on Saturday's race card.

Wise Fool Wins Rillito Park's Rulon Goodman Maiden

TUCSON, AZ—FEBRUARY 16, 2019—Wise Fool, a daughter of champion sire Tres Seis, scored her first official win Saturday when she defeated Captain Mazurk by a neck in the $8,500 Rulon Goodman Maiden (not black type) at Rillito Park. Beautiful Return was a neck back in the blanket finish to take third.

Under jockey Martin Osuna, Wise Fool completed the 330 yards in :17.005 seconds, equaling a 94 speed index. It was the first win in 10 career starts for the California-bred mare out of Another Wise Lady by First Down Dash.

Trainer Toni Richardson conditions the 5-year-old mare for owner Felix Ochoa. Parsons Family Limited Partnership is the breeder.

Runner-up Captain Mazurk is a 3-year-old daughter of multiple stakes sire Captain Courage racing for owner-trainer Eric Valenzuela. Tyler Ranch LLC bred the sorrel filly in California from the Tr Dasher mare Napa Valley Girl. She earned $1,700 for the effort.

Trainer Omar Cruz saddled third-place finisher Beautiful Return for owner Cesar Moreno. Connie Nobles bred the 4-year-old High Rate Of Return daughter in Oklahoma from the Agouti mare Beautiful World. Emilio Tapia was riding.

Jay Collins, Favorite Dynasty, Laprieta Linda 2014 and Fire On The Desert completed the field.
