Feature Ms Bo Breaks Maiden With Prineville Quarter Horse Futurity Win

PRINEVILLE, OR—JULY 14, 2018—Feature Ms Bo broke her maiden Saturday evening at the Crooked River Roundup by defeating Willy B Gone by a head in the $6,700 Prineville Quarter Horse Futurity (not black type). Big Bad Bard was a nose back in the blanket finish to take third.

Feature Ms Bo drifted out under jockey Jose Figueroa while completing the 250 yards in :13.574 seconds to pick up the winners' purse of $2,680.

Trainer Freddy Ibarra saddled the daughter of champion Feature Mr Bojangles for owners Luke Lindsey and Matthew Huse. Huse bred the sorrel filly in Oregon from the Separatist mare Paraphrase. A finalist in the Pot O'Gold Futurity earlier this year, Feature Ms Bo has earned $4,496.

Runner-up Willy B Gone races for owner Chris Phillbrook and trainer Hector Magallanes. Eduardo Gutierrez-Sosa rode the Jess Louisiana Blue colt from the Splash Bac mare Time To Splash. Michael and Shannon McKay bred the 2-year-old colt who has qualified for both the Pot O'Gold Futurity and the Firecracker Futurity at Grants Pass this year. The $1,340 second-place check boosted Willy Bo Gone's earnings to $5,902.

Also trained by Freddy Ibarra, third-place finisher Big Bad Brad races for owner Malon Cowgill. Jockey Jamie Lopez was aboard the Sixthirteen (TB) gelding out of Missy Nickle Bac by Splash Bac. Margaret Dee Klinger is the breeder. Big Bad Brad earned $1,005 for his effort.

Alabama Hills, L Bar D Xquizit Lips, Er Cartel, Unique Tap and Mayitas First completed the field.

In an undercard stakes Rtictac Man, a 5-year-old son of Tac It Like A Man defeated Flyin Rocks by 3 ¼ lengths to win the $4,400 Crooked River Hook Mixed Breed Stakes (not black type).

Ridden by jockey Jaime Lopez, Rtictac Man bumped at the start but recovered nicely to complete the 610 yard distance in :32.698 seconds. The win was worth $2,420.

Trainer Jose Rosales saddled the chestnut gelding to his fourth career win for owners Bryan and Deb Gotham. Bob and Deanna Williams bred Rtictac Man in Oregon from the Chicks Beduino mare Rlittle Sis. He has earned $8,503.

Flyin Rocks earned $880 for second and Quattro Dude finished third to pick up $440.
