TULSA, OK—JULY 14, 2018—Hooked On A Win rolled to his third consecutive win Saturday night while getting the fastest time from four time trials contested for the Speedhorse Derby at Fair Meadows Race Course in Tulsa.

The top ten qualifiers will return to Fair Meadows no Saturday, July 28th to vie for the winner's share of a $75,300 purse going 350 yards.

Ridden by jockey Daniel Torres, Hooked On Win put on a dominating performance in the opening trial, drawing away from second fastest qualifier Dashing Vickie by 1-¼ lengths. The son of leading sire Pyc Paint Your Wagon completed the 350 yard course in :17.405 seconds, a 101 speed index over a sloppy sealed racetrack.

Trainer Kenny Laymon saddled Hooked On Win to his fifth career win for owner Regina Laymon. The bay gelding entered the trials off his first stakes win in the Golden Driller Stakes on June 17th at Fair Meadows. Bred by JK Running Horses LLC, from the Pretty Boy Perry mare Pretty Girl Kate. He has earned $54,776.

The top-three qualifiers came from the first trial.

Dashing Vickie, a daughter of world champion One Dashing Eagle, held on to the second fastest time of :17.599 seconds, a 94 speed index. Connie Barnes conditions the Oklahoma homebred for owner Pine Bridge Farm LLC. James Flores was aboard the filly from the Corona Cartel mare Too Tiny To Quit.

Second-crop sire Lota Pyc is the only sire to get multiple qualifiers. Oltigbitties by Lota Pyc won the third trial in :17.756 seconds to post the 4th fastest time and Lota Cac recorded the 7th fastest time of :17.783 seconds in the sixth trial.

Trainer R.L. Rick Robinson saddled two qualifiers including the Tempting Dash filly Tempting Annee Gl, winner of the last trial to get the 6th fastest time of :17.769 seconds and the aforementioned Lota Cac.
